In honor of my mother’s birthday I thought I should at the very least post a photo of her. This is a portrait I took several years ago.
It probably isn’t the flattering picture she would have liked for me to have posted, but I like it. It has all of those things in it that make me think of her, the old quilt, some kitschy bird house, antique furniture, and anything having to do with University of Alabama football.

Just listened to a phone message from Gorjus where he only used his last name, sounded odd to me. But it reminded me that I have been meaning to upload a photo of him.
This photo was taken back in Febuary.
In order to prevent offending Hud’s delicate power line sensibilities, I have edited and posted a new version of my photograph of the capitol building.
I have rotated the image to make the building’s lines perfectly horizontal, I also corrected the perspective slightly, and removed all power lines and trafic lights.

EDIT: I added one more image to this series.
I have never been a good architectural photographer, something I always envied Hud for his talent in. I have also always had a problem producing location photographs I am satisfied with the quality of; I want to control the lighting and move things around.
Despite my lackings I keep trying it again and again, thinking eventually I will improve. These images reflect my latest attempts.
