Today is the birthday of one of my greatest friends. Just the other day Dr. Wagner, and myself were reminiscing about him shoving Gorjus into the mud to ruin his favorite sweater, and teach him a lesson about materialism. Perhaps there was no lesson about materialism, but it was funny.
Wyatt, I hope you have a wonderful day, and a great year. Thanks for being my friend.
I am continually astounded by the stereotypes that abound at my workplace. Continue reading ‘The potential’
I appreciate a well thought critique of my work, but I am also too sensitive about my work. I once had a professional photographer and educator critique my portfolio at a conference I attended in New Orleans. She really liked the technical aspects of my work, but felt the symbolism of showing the bottom of the model’s feet illustrated my misogyny. I also project my sensitivity, or over empathize, however you want to say it. If I really like or respect someone’s work, I get angry to hear it criticized; this reaction doesn’t even make sense to me as I type it, but that is how I am.

I am attempting to have a more open mind towards the work of Jeanne-Claude and Christo. I would like to claim that I am just that reasonable of a person, but that is not true. So I altered the background images for the site, if you look at the edge between the white and gray you can see that it still needs some work. I like the ideal of staying with shades of gray, but I am not totally anchored to it. I have to determine a method for incorporation of the gallery . . .
Added links on the right to various artblogs, and catoptric.
Also created categories for entries.
EDIT: I’m now pretty happy with the background images. My new focus is going to be displaying rss feeds, and getting a link back from the gallery pages, or displaying the gallery inside a frame.
My mother recently gave me a pair of non-descript journals that she got at a thrift store in Wisconsin. They were written by someone with excellent penmenship, but past that I have no information. I have yet to delve into them in any real way, but as my first project for Vindauga I’ll read and post highlights. Maybe it’ll turn up something interesting. And let me apologize in advance for my fascination with codes and cryptology. If I talk too much about Kryptos then please tell me to stop.
